Small
breeds can experience hypoglycemia when under stress. Travel for
a small pup can be stressful at times. I always carry a tube of
Nutrical with me in the event that the pup seems to be having
any type of reaction. This can be obtained from your vet for a
modest fee.

first day
The
journey to the new home will take a lot out of your puppy. This
will be an exciting day for everyone but just like a baby the
puppy needs rest to make an easy adjustment.
House
Training Tips
Starting
out with a small area is better for the puppy. Dogs do not like
to soil the area they sleep in. Most are naturally clean. It takes
patience to properly train them. I always provide clean water
for my puppies. They need to be fed several times per day while
they are growing. When I first bring the puppy home I make sure
they get to go out once every hour for the first few days. Then
I gradually lengthen the time. 20-30 minutes after eating or drinking
is a must. You can’t expect them to be properly trained
overnight. It has taken me anywhere from 3 weeks to 4 months to
train my dogs. They are very much individuals but as long as they
have no health problems the task can be completed. If you have
a fenced yard and can use a doggie door I have found that to be
the most excellent way of all once they are big enough to open
the door and go out. Make sure you are consistent with the door you use at home. Keep the puppy in a room with a tile floor for the first few days until the baby adjusts so you don't have accidents.
